It is reported that around 10 people including school children were injured in an accident that occurred today (02) at around 7.30 in the morning at Hatton Kandy main road in Nawalapitiya Meepitiya area when two private buses traveling at high speed collided head on.
It is also reported that the injured were admitted to Nawalapitiya District General Hospital.
A private bus running from Hatton to Kandy and a bus running from Kandy to Hatton collided head on and the accident took place.
A driver of one of the buses was also injured in the accident, and the accident took place in an accident-prone area, both the buses were driving at a high speed, and there were a group of employees of public and private institutions in both the buses at the time of the accident. The Nawalapitiya police have announced that they are investigating the accident
