The budget statement for the year 2022 is due to be presented to Parliament today (12).
Accordingly, the Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa is scheduled to present the budget report in Parliament today at 02.00 pm, Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake has stated.
This budget is the 76th budget statement of Sri Lanka and the second budget report of the government of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
The Minister of Finance introduced the Appropriation Bill in Parliament on October 07 and the second reading of the Budget Report will be held for seven days from tomorrow (13) to the 22nd.
The vote on the third reading of the budget is scheduled for December 10.
The Parliamentary Public Gallery will not be open to the public during the presentation of this budget and only a few government officials will be allowed to attend.
