In Sri Lanka, a discussion was held this morning at the Communist Party office in Borella with members of 11 government parties against the transfer of LNG power supply to an American company.
The General Secretary of the Ceylon Electricity Board Ranjan Jayalal stated that attention has been focused on launching a 48 hour strike after the discussion.
Further commenting, “The government is telling us. Go on strike. Put it in the dark. From then on we will not withdraw this cynical policy and this agreement. Therefore we tell the people. We have to stay in the dark for two days to heal this wound. We are darkening the country and going on strike. ”
