It is reported that an accident occurred when a bus of the Sri Lanka Transport Board and a lorry carrying a group of army personnel collided in Kilinochchi, Kokavil area.
Mankulam police say that 6 people were injured in the accident.
The police said that the accident occurred when a bus belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board traveling from Mullaitivu, Tunukkai to Jaffna, Karainagar and a lorry carrying army personnel traveling from Mankulam to Kilinochchi collided with each other.
The lorry had overturned in the accident, and four army personnel who were traveling in it were injured, while the driver of the bus and a woman who was traveling in the bus were also injured and admitted to Kilinochchi Hospital.
Hospital sources said that the condition of the injured is not serious, and the police said that the driver of the bus has been arrested in connection with the accident.
The accident occurred due to the inability to control the speed, and the Mankulam Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
