It is reported that four school students and a young man who were drowning in a river have been rescued by the officers of the police life saving unit.
Yesterday (12), the group was caught in a current while swimming at the Panadura beach.
The police said that among the rescued people there are two boys aged 12 and 09, two girls aged 17 and 14 and a young man aged 23.
The police media division says that police constable Pushpakumara and police constable Dasun, who were on life-saving duty at Panadura beach, worked to save the group.
