If the government fails to solve the problems that have arisen regarding the pay disparity of teachers, the Sri Lanka Teachers Service Union says that it will start a massive professional action focusing on the central province on the 20th.
They mentioned this after the discussion held yesterday (16) between the subject minister Dr. Susil Premyant, the provincial governors and the education trade unions regarding the problems in the education sector.
The problems that have arisen in the provincial education sector have been discussed at length in this meeting, and attention has also been focused on the disparity in teacher salaries.
Also, the representatives of the trade unions said that the minister’s attention was drawn here to the request of the trade unions to stop applying the names of politicians to the school buildings.
