According to Ratnapura Headquarters Police, five people were injured and admitted to Ratnapura Teaching Hospital in an acid attack near the Ratnapura High Court Complex this morning (06).
The police say that a person who was coming for a case, his wife and three children who were traveling on the road were attacked with acid.
The police say that the acid attack was carried out on a person who has been identified as the main person responsible for a fatal car accident that took place in the new town of Ratnapura on April 23, 2023.
The attack took place when he was coming to appear for the case.
Ratnapura police have arrested the father of the young man who died in the car accident on suspicion of having carried out the acid attack.
