Minister Susil Premjayant says that steps will be taken in the future to implement a national education policy.
He mentioned that it is planned to operate the same type of school regardless of national schools and provincial council schools in this country.
“It is suggested in the policy framework of education reforms that national schools and provincial council schools should not be separated into one category. It is being discussed in the Supervisory Committee. Not possible at once. But gradually it will be possible to do it step by step.
You can’t say you don’t teach. If that happens, the results cannot be obtained. But we have to fix them. Programs that update teachers’ knowledge, use of technology, etc. are all coming with education reforms. In the classroom, when the unit of a subject is finished, an exercise is done. It will be marked and completed. Then the next one. Many countries operate like that. There is an education policy. That should change over time. We make that difference. It is done with the approval of the Parliament. Then the minister will not change even if he changes. It has to be done again by the parliament itself. So there is a difference today than usual…”
