A group of doctors are in a queue with the general public today, listening to the voices of the people. They are still staying in Godakawela.
Doctors and staff of rural hospitals in Godakawela, Pallebedda and the surrounding Ranwala and Galpaya areas keep their vehicles and motorbikes within a kilometer of a fuel queue in Godakawela.
Also, the staff working in those areas have not been able to come to work. There is no public transport on those rural roads and in some areas it is necessary to travel 5-10 km to reach the main road.
They point out that if the people do not need medicine, doctors can also wait in the fuel queue. They point out that if people do not like it, they too can get fuel from the queue.
As a recognized media institution, we urge the general public to move forward as much as possible. The service of the doctors is essential and we want to give them the maximum possible support to get the fuel.
Also, we have pointed out earlier that the Secretary to the Ministry of Health, who has already become one of the most corrupt ministries, does not want the problems of the people, including the Secretary to the Ministry, and that five Heads of the Ministries traveled abroad in the absence of dollars. It was clear that the health authorities in this country were behaving like businessmen. Also, as we have reported before, if the health authorities are corrupt, they will not feel the slightest hint about their health system.
It is the Minister of Health and the Secretary who should protect and facilitate the doctors and staff and represent them.
