Minister Kanchana Wijesekera who held the press conference yesterday (29) stated that the charge sheet required to remove all the members of the ruling party and the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission is ready.
Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Interest Commission, while participating in the special press conference organized yesterday (29) while responding to the press conference held by the Minister of Power, stated that he is ready to face the charge sheet presented against him by the Minister of Power.
He also stated in the media that the non-implementation of decisions given by an independent commission by the relevant officials is a violation and threat to the independence of the commissions and legal action will be taken for that.
In the press conference, the Chairman presented his views on the matters that the Minister of Electricity Kanchana Wijesekera had stated regarding the Chairman Janaka Ratnayake’s request for a personal chairmanship from Gotabaha and the story of the Commercial Bank Chairmanship.
Chairman Mr. Janaka Rathnayake stated that the minister has no need to provide electricity to the students. Also, due to the arbitrary procedure of the political authority, the rights of the students have been violated and they are going to present it to the commission. It was clearly seen here that it was a fabricated decision to provide electricity for the high school students and make up for the loss caused by the future electricity amendment.
He also stated that all the members of the ruling party agreed to remove Janaka Ratnayake. It is a pity that the ruling party acted against the children when all the people expressed their opinions against the power cut.
However, increasing the electricity bill is one of the main issues that the people have to face, so not only Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, but all the ministers of the government should work with more responsibility. Without it, working can be a bloodshed that goes beyond the struggle. Therefore, the ruling class of this country must listen to the voice of the people.
