It is reported that cancer patients are in a lot of trouble due to non-repair of the linear accelerator machine used for radiation treatment of cancer patients at the Kandy National Hospital. Although about 80 patients are treated by this machine per day, due to the lack of that machine, it is stated that the “Cobot 60” radiation treatment machine, which has the lowest accuracy, will be used.
It is reported that the Ministry of Health has not taken any steps for the maintenance of this machine even though the patients have been in a lot of trouble due to this machine being inactive since the last 14th day.
