It is reported that the Talangama police arrested two people who stole smart phones used to check QR codes to get fuel at petrol stations.
It is said that these two suspects have stolen a mobile phone at a Battaramulla petrol station and in this regard the two suspects were arrested during an investigation based on a complaint received by the Thalangama Police.
Since last January 25, these two suspects have stolen 12 mobile phones from 12 petrol stations in 8 police domains such as Maharagama, Kottawa, Rajagiriya, Piliyandala etc. It has been revealed during investigations that these thefts were done using different motorcycles.
It has been reported that these people are heavily addicted to drugs.
The two arrested persons are said to be 24 and 25 year old youths residing in Homagama and Pannipitiya areas.
It is said that the robbery of these two was recorded in a CCTV camera installed at a petrol station and the two suspects are going to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (17).
