It is reported that an army soldier has stolen a T56 firearm and three magazines with 90 bullets from the Panagoda army camp and the Homicide and Organized Crime Investigation Division has started investigations to find the suspected soldier.
It is said that this suspected soldier came to a temple in Godagama with this firearm and asked the leader of the temple for a bag to put the firearm and ran away. It is stated that this suspected soldier had a close relationship with the leader of this temple.
It is reported that the leader was arrested for aiding the suspect and was released on bail after being produced before the Homagama Magistrate Court.
