It was reported that several devotees who had mercy on Siripa had contracted listeria and a woman had died due to this disease.
Due to this, it is reported that today the shops on Hatton Sri Pada Road and Palabaddala Sri Pada Road were inspected by health departments.
Also, Dr. Palitha Rajapakse of Badulla General Hospital’s Emergency Unit stated that a patient who is suspected to have contracted Listeria bacteria is being treated at Badulla General Hospital’s intensive care unit.
