It is reported that its National Organizer Member of Parliament Mr. Tissa Attanayake has stated that Samagi Janabalawega opposes the new Anti-Terrorism Bill that has been gazetted.
It is reported that the Sri Lanka Bar Association has announced that a committee consisting of senior lawyers has been appointed to study the Anti-Terrorism Bill. If the relevant committee recommends that there is any problem in this bill, the Sri Lanka Bar Association will approach the Supreme Court against it. It is reported that Chairman Kaushalya Navaratne said.
It is also reported that the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reform Acharya Wijayadasa Rajapaksa stated that this Act has been prepared according to internationally accepted principles.
