It is reported that three fundamental rights petitions filed by a group including the former chairman of the Public Utility Commission, Janaka Ratnayake, have been ordered to be called on the 19th.
It is stated that they had filed these petitions requesting to conclude that the basic rights of the people have been violated by the action taken to increase the electricity bill by 60% on last February 15th.
These petitions were called today before the Supreme Court bench of Justice Preethi Padman Surasena Samayawardena.
