After an investigation conducted by the officers of the Mahawa police station, it is reported that two suspects and a person who was in possession of stolen goods were arrested in connection with many crimes such as theft of property, theft of motorcycles, electric water motors, vehicle batteries etc. reported to the police station.
It is said that the arrested suspects are aged 23 and 48 and are residents of Balalla, Mahawa and Hettipola areas.
The police have found many properties including 3 motorcycles, 7 water motors, a television set, an electric fan, 2 vehicle batteries, a lawn mower and a grinder stolen by them.
It is reported that the suspects were remanded until the 21st after being produced before the Hon’ble Magistrate’s Court yesterday (08).
Mahawa police are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
