It is reported that the Electricity Board has stated that in response to the letter sent by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa to the Chairman of the Electricity Board asking about his unresolved electricity bill, the Electricity Board is going to send an explanatory letter to Namal Rajapaksa.
In response to the spreading story about an unpaid electricity bill of 2.6 million rupees, in the letter sent by the Member’s Coordinating Secretary to the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board, the allegations have been dismissed as defamatory and slanderous.
It is reported that the letter had mentioned that he has not received any such bill in his name or in his father’s name, and therefore the Electricity Board should give an immediate explanation in this regard.
But since the MP has requested such, the Chairman of the Electricity Board has stated that after checking the related documents, an explanatory letter will be sent in the future.
