It is reported that the police have issued a notice to the drivers traveling on the surrounding road to use alternative routes for the annual Sri Dalada Perahara Veethi of Kotte Rajamaha Vihara.
The annual Sri Dalada Perahara festival of Kotte Rajamaha Vihara started yesterday (07) and will continue till tomorrow (10). Accordingly, the Perehara streets are scheduled to be visited from 7.30 pm today (09) to 01.00 am tomorrow.
During that time, the Perahara turn right from Wahalkadin Pitakotta Rajamaha Vihara, go around the temple and come to Bodhia Junction, turn left from that junction along Rajamaha Vihara Mawatha to reach Rajamaha Vihara Junction, turn right from that junction, travel along Kotte Road to Pitakotta Junction, turn left at Pitakotta Junction, Nugegoda on Pagoda Road After traveling towards the back of the Naga Vihara, you will come back to the Kotte road along the water tank road, and again turn right at the Rajamaha Vihara junction and proceed to the Rajamaha Vihara station through the Bodhia junction.
As a result of this there may be some traffic congestion on the road, the police request the public and drivers to use the alternative routes provided as far as possible and those alternative routes are below,
- Traffic restriction at Parana Kottawa Road – Jubilee Pillar junction
Vehicles coming from Parana Kottawa Road and traveling towards Entrekotte via Pitakottai can turn left at Jubilee Kanwana Junction and turn left at Niromi Junction and turn right at Nawala Roundabout and proceed towards Welikada via Nawala Road.
- Traffic restriction at Bangla Junction on Kotte Road
Traffic coming towards Mirihana on the Inner Kotte Road via Pitakottae can turn left at Bangala Junction and take the Baddagana Road to Baddagana Junction and take the Talavathugoda Road to the Madivela Junction and turn right along the Madivela Road to the Amudeniya Junction and again proceed towards Mirihana along the Parana Kottawa Road.
- Traffic restriction at Pagoda Cross Road Junction on Pagoda Road
Vehicles traveling towards Pagoda Road and Pagoda Road turn right at Pagoda Crossing and take Niomi Junction to Jubilee Post Junction, turn right at Jubilee Post Junction and take Mirihana Roundabout to Parana Kottawa Road, turn left at Amudeniya Junction and take Madivela Road to Madivela Junction and turn left at that point. You can come to Baddagana junction on Thalawathugoda road and turn right from Baddagana junction and follow Bangala junction towards Inner Kotte.

Traffic coming towards Pitakotte on Talavathugoda road can turn right from Baddagana junction and come to Bangala junction along Baddagana road and turn right from Bangala junction and enter the inner Kotte road and proceed towards Welikada.
