It is reported that the National Dengue Control Unit has said that five thousand and twenty nine dengue cases have been reported from sixty seven health medical officer divisions identified as high risk areas in ten districts within the last fortnight of this year (2024).
The highest number of patients are reported from the Western Province and the number is one thousand seven hundred.
One thousand one hundred and ninety four dengue patients are reported from the Northern Province.
The National Dengue Control Unit stated that the report on the progress of the week-long nationwide dengue control program could be released tomorrow (16).
It has been implemented in seventy Medical Officer of Health Divisions which have been selected as dengue high risk areas.
Doctors have informed people to seek medical treatment immediately if the fever persists for more than three days.
