Colombo Crime Division has arrested one of the main agents of kidney smuggling which is said to have taken place in Borella Kotapara Hospital which is a major private hospital. It has now been revealed that he is a resident of Grandpass.
Director General of Health Services Mr. Asela Gunawardena said that a personnel committee headed by a Deputy Director General of Health has been appointed to investigate this incident. He further said that there are 5 doctors, a legal officer and an investigation officer in the committee.
Finally, he also mentioned that although there were reports that a testicle transplant had taken place, investigations and research had revealed that no such transplant had taken place.
