Mr. Ranjan Jayalal, the convenor of the Ceylon Electricity Board Trade Union Alliance has stated that an amount of 2.56 rupees has been collected as social security deposit for the electricity bill since the 15th.
According to the proposal of the International Monetary Fund, there is a readiness to increase the electricity bill by 30% again.
Mr. Ranjan Jayalal has stated in this regard while attending a press conference held in Colombo and further commenting, he has mentioned that the social security tax of 2.56% has been increased since the 15th and the IMF is proposing to increase the electricity bill again, saying that it has been included in the electricity bill. He also emphasized that the government is not responsible for the hunger of the people.
