The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage stated that it has been decided to provide assistance of Rs. 300,000 for farming activities in more than half an acre of land.
He further stated that all equipment such as sprinkler systems, water tanks and water motors required for agricultural activities will be provided free of charge.
The Minister of State has expressed these views while participating in a ceremony to hand over agricultural equipment to a group of farmers in the Gampola area.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture has decided to import about 22 million liters of liquid fertilizer with nano nitrogen sources for eco-friendly agriculture from India and it is reported that the first consignment of fertilizer will be delivered to Sri Lanka on the 19th.
