A special grace period has been granted to register workers who are not registered with the Bureau of Foreign Employment.
Accordingly, the concession period will be effective from the 15th to the 14th of December, according to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment.
Relevant grace period is given to workers who are employed abroad illegally without being registered with the Bureau and to foreign workers who continue to work without renewing the registration after the relevant period.
Accordingly, the Bureau of Foreign Employment states that Sri Lankan workers abroad can go to the embassy of the country of employment and submit a valid visa and employment agreement or letter of appointment and obtain the registration by paying the relevant fee.
