A man was shot dead in the Kotikawatta area in the Mulleriyawa police area between 6.30 am and 7.00 am today (26).
The deceased has been identified as a 42 year old man who was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital with injuries.
The police stated that the injured person was a 45 year old man.
The police stated that investigations have been launched into the incident and that preliminary investigations have revealed that the shooting was due to a drug dispute.
Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon stated that four teams have been deployed to investigate the incident.
