Sri Lanka won the South Asia Women’s Basketball Championship.
It was by defeating the host Maldives in the final match held in Maldives.
The South Asian Women’s Basketball Tournament was held in Male Island this year for the 5th time and this year 06 teams have participated in the South Asian Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Sri Lanka and the hosts Maldives qualified for the finals.
At the end of the first half, the Sri Lankan team was leading by 46 to 22 points and at the end of the second half, the Sri Lankan women’s basketball team won the championship by 72 to 59 points.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka won the championship of the South Asian Women’s Basketball Tournament for the second time.
