Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the gazette notification issued by the Urban Development Authority to take over lands in the Muthurajawela Wetland Zone.
Accordingly, 3,863 hectares of land is to be acquired by the Urban Development Authority through this gazette notification.
The petitioner has requested the Cardinal to issue a writ order nullifying this gazette notification.
