Medical experts say that the current data on Covid 19 patients in Sri Lanka is untrue. Dr. Haritha Aluthge writes in his face book, “Covid 19 # Data Magic Again ?. Daily Patients are Wesetern 400+. Hambantota is 200+, but less than 600 in the country. ” He has put that note yesterday (05).
Commenting on the current increase in Kovid cases, Dr. Sanjay Perera said that there could be another Covid crisis in Sri Lanka for three main reasons. According to him,
- Attempting to stop randomized trials by hiding people with Covid infection greatly increases the number of true positive patients on a daily basis. So the only solution to prevent the country from being locked up is to increase investigations and isolate critical locations for 14 days.
- Symptomatic patients staying at home for 14 days without notifying or inspecting the public health inspectors can endanger the entire housing complex and cause clusters to grow.
- He added that due to the high level of confidence in the vaccine, the spread of Covid could have increased if there had been enough space for public protests.
He added, “We still do not understand why the authority persons are trying to create a rosy picture of Covid on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister.” He went on to say that he should not be ashamed to present factual information about patients, that this would happen until the end of 2022, and that the overconfidence given about the vaccine was a bullet given to protesters.
Editor’s note.
The problem not only for Dr. Sanjaya but also for us is the lack of factual information. No one is responsible for the damage caused by not providing factual information. The reason for all the breakdowns is to work without honesty and people are not scared by the lack of factual information. We need to identify the behavior of the people. People are careful not to panic, but to get the truth out. People generally put aside caution in concealing information. Recently, thousands of people came to bathe in the outlet of the Embilipitiya Chandrika Lake as this fear was allayed. However, we must emphasize that without fear, it is inappropriate to create fear. Although nearly 2 million people receive permanent salaries, the authorities need to know that other citizens earn their living from day-to-day work, and we are saddened that the authorities do not know that the public is paid by taxes on goods consumed by the public.
