The body of Sergeant Covid, who went missing at the Gampola Hospital about 56 days ago, has been found in a water tank at the Gampola Hospital.
Although 56 days had elapsed since the discovery, it was doubtful that the body was safe enough to be identified.
The deceased has been identified as Sergeant S. Ilanbovan, a former bodyguard of Minister Thondaman.
He and his family have been diagnosed with Covid and the sergeant has been hospitalized due to severe symptoms of Covid infection.
The sergeant had disappeared from the ward on September 08 while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Since then, there have been no reports of him being investigated by the Pundaluoya and Kotmale Gampola police.
