DECISIONS TAKEN AT THE COVID SUPRESSION COMMITEE MEETING HELD TODAY.

A special anti- Covid committee was held this morning (10) under the chairmanship of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Due to the situation in Covid distribution, it was conducted through video technology.

There, the current curfew imposed by Covid will be extended to 04.00 am on September 21, the economic centers will remain open and recommendations will be made after the opening of the country to obtain the necessary recommendations regarding the possibility of opening rural schools with less than 100 children. What ? It was decided at this meeting to look into the matter and obtain the necessary recommendations expeditiously.

Special attention was paid to the difficulties faced by the farming community in not being able to sell their produce and the loss of primary education to nearly 700,000 children and the loss of early childhood education to a similar number of children due to non-attendance of schools in 2020 and 2021.
