The country conducts raids in search of fuel everywhere, but we have seen enough of their shortcomings. Politicians as well as police officers are primarily responsible for all the problems in Sri Lanka. The police officers who are responsible for it are the police officers who do politics. When governments change, incompetent officers who are tame puppies of politicians become police chiefs of their own police. The truth was revealed recently when a letter prepared by the Inspector General of Police came into the hands of the media. Currently, it is being reported in the four corners of Sri Lanka that the governors who have obtained positions on behalf of politicians cannot follow the law and can be called rogues.
By now, the people of this country are well aware of the drama of keeping fuel in the fuel sheds. More than a thousand liters are kept at every fuel station for the people of various ranks including the police. They deliver secretly in the middle of the night. When the informed people speak about it, they are forcibly arrested. But the police officers should know that they are dancing in the open.
A few days ago, a young trainee who claimed to be “hiding fuel” was taken to the back of the fuel station, assaulted and brought to court. He has been detained for 14 days so far. Since we are still getting the true information about the incident, we have already arranged to report all the information after the young man returns on a certain date after receiving bail. We have already found out who those policemen are and the fact that the police chiefs or the underlings cannot take them behind the fuel station and attack them by infringing on freedom of speech means that they are not police officers but armed underworld members.
But this same police, this same headquarters police inspector has left behind more than 15000 liters of fuel which was found in a workshop of a famous businessman in the area. We never say that we should confiscate the fuel available to run the factories of businessmen. Their lack of fuel means hundreds more will starve. The fuel of people who have vehicles all over the country has been seized. Nor do we ever agree that they are appropriate. According to the law, it is also stated in the law that if hundreds of other people are killed because of that crime, they are not wrong. But it is not possible to give up fuel and sue for less. It is the law, but it would be good for everyone to know that there is a modern technology that goes beyond snoring.
But the police, who are not allowed to talk about the injustices they see with their own eyes, should make sure that the higher police officers do not give any space to the law book. From the politician’s letter, it is no secret that many OICs who are station commanders do not obey the orders of higher police officers.
