10 billion rupees for urea.

It is reported that the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, has given instructions to the officials of the Ministry that 10 billion rupees will be allocated for the urea fertilizer required for rice cultivation and maize cultivation in this year’s Yala season.

The Ministry of Agriculture reports that 30,000 metric tons of urea fertilizer has been stored in Sri Lanka Fertilizer Company and Commercial Fertilizer Companies and they are working to purchase another 25,000 metric tons.

The Ministry states that 10 billion rupees have been allocated to purchase 25,000 metric tons of urea in addition to the existing urea stocks.
