It is reported that 10 people were injured and admitted to Marawila Base Hospital in the accident that occurred in the morning today (20) between a bus and a lorry on the Wennappuwa – Nainamadama bridge.
A bus belonging to Kabithigolleva depot running from Colombo to Pulmude has been involved in the accident.
This bus skidded on the bridge and hit the safety fence and at the same time the lorry coming from behind hit the bus and the accident ended.
It is said that the driver and conductor of the bus are among the people who were taken to the hospital. The bus and the lorry have been damaged in the accident and Wennappuwa Police are carrying out further investigations.
