Yesterday (2) Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera held a discussion with Puttalam farmer representatives and the minister stated that the government has decided to allocate 10 billion rupees to buy paddy in the high season.
The Minister of Agriculture says that the government has decided to purchase 66,000 metric tons of paddy through the district secretaries and divisional secretaries instead of this time by the paddy marketing board.
