108 billion income to the Electricity Board in 3 months.

Member of Parliament Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka, while attending the conference held in Colombo, has stated that the Ceylon Electricity Board has received an income of 108 billion rupees within the first three months of the new tariff collection system.

It is stated that the member of parliament has further stated that the statement that it is not possible to provide electricity continuously due to a financial crisis and losses is not acceptable when looking at this income.

In the meantime, the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission has instructed the Sri Lanka Electricity Board to provide electricity without cut-off during the period of the A-level examination, but yesterday the power cut was carried out as before. In the background that had expressed agreement to the Human Rights Commission.

It is reported that the Commission has informed the Electricity Board that it will report the facts to the Supreme Court as guilty of acting against or disrespecting the Human Rights Commission despite expressing such agreement.

It is reported that the decision taken by the Public Utility Commission has been conveyed to the Electricity Board and that no power cut will be allowed until February 17.
