11 BILLION HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED.

Agricultural Development Commissioner General A. said that the Department of Agricultural Development has distributed 11 billion rupees as fertilizer subsidy to paddy farmers in the high season. M. H. L. Mr. Abeyratne has stated.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries has decided to release Rs 15,000 per hectare to farmers’ accounts in the 2023/24 season.

The government allocated 11.6 billion rupees for this purpose.

The Ministry of Agriculture says that farmers in Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts start paddy cultivation later than other areas, so the money is left to be paid only in those two districts.

Apart from this, the Commissioner General of Farmers Development said that if some farmers in other areas have not received the related money, the reason may be due to errors in the account numbers or names given by them.
