19 CRORE LOSS TO THE NATIONAL DRUG REGULATORY AUTHORITY.

According to a latest report issued by the National Audit Office, nearly 19 crore rupees of revenue has been lost in the last year 2021 due to the failure of the National Drug Regulatory Authority to revise its service fees from time to time.

The report has shown that the loss is due to issuance of registration certificates, granting of licenses, approval of exemption from registration, approval for packaging, approval for assignment of agencies, conducting tests and other services provided in relation to medicines, medical devices and other products. That is part of the fees charged.

Also, the report further states that due to the omissions of the officials and various other problems, in 18 cases in the year 2021, more than ten lakhs of income had been paid back to various institutions.

In this regard, the National Audit Office has stated that the fees charged for these services were last revised on January 5, 2018, and the fees should be reviewed in the year 2021 and the relevant revisions should be submitted for Treasury approval, but the authorities of the authority have not acted accordingly. is
