It is reported that a 55-year-old man who had a romantic relationship with a 19-year-old girl was beaten to death by a group of people.
Chunnagam Police Station received information that a person was tied to a tree and assaulted yesterday (07) in Jaffna, Chunnakam area.
It is said that the deceased was having a love relationship with a 19-year-old girl resident in Chunnakam area, and this attack was carried out by a group of the girl’s party who was jealous of it.
It is reported that the young woman was also attacked by the same group, and she is also receiving treatment at Thelippale hospital.
A 55-year-old resident of Armugan Street, Chunnakam was killed in the attack.
The police have arrested 06 suspects in connection with this attack and they are residents of Chunnakam area aged 23, 24, 38, 46 and 48.
Chunnakam Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
