It is reported that more than 22 lakh rupees in the safe of Marawila District Court is missing.
Sharika Manel Wickramanayake, a registrar of the same court, has submitted a complaint to the Marawila Police on March 20, claiming that an amount of 22,07,000 rupees deposited in the court safe has gone missing. Accordingly, the police started investigations related to this incident and took statements from several people working in the court.
Accordingly, it is reported that a clerk and a clerk working in the Marawila District Court were arrested yesterday (27) by the Marawila Police in connection with the incident.
It is also stated that the Marawila Police will carry out further investigations regarding the incident.
