Earlier, the government had set aside 10 billion rupees for the purchase of paddy and it is reported that the entire amount of paddy has been purchased as of yesterday (3).
It is also reported that President Ranil Wickramasinghe arranged to provide another 3 billion rupees to buy rice if necessary.
