97 TREES IN BORELLA ARE AT RISK – ABOUT TO FALL – BE CAREFUL.


The Colombo Municipal Council has stated that the Borella area has the highest number of trees at risk of falling.

Accordingly, 97 trees at risk have been identified in Borella area
329 trees at risk have been identified within the jurisdiction of the Colombo Municipal Council.

It is said that the public and the police have informed the Colombo Municipal Council about 360 dangerous trees in Colombo city due to the bad weather conditions with rain these days.

The Colombo Municipal Council has announced that 214 dangerous trees have been removed so far.

A team of experts from the National Botanic Gardens Department recently inspected the endangered trees in Colombo city and accordingly 700 trees were inspected.

Mr. Janaka Wakkambura, State Minister for Provincial and Local Government, stated that they are working to remove the dangerous trees in any city on the island, and that there are problems in getting recommendations for cutting certain trees.
