There is a report from Sevanagala Habarattalawa area that a child who went swimming with his father drowned in the river.
It is reported that the accident occurred while two children had gone to bathe in the Wala River with their father from Sevanagala, Habarattalawa area.
While the child was being bathed, the father left the child and was swept away by the stream.
It is said that the person who died in the accident was 12-year-old Sevanagala Habarattalawa, a school student residing in the same area.
