It is reported that 44,202 kilos of Kerala Ganja have been seized by a Navy patrol vessel in the sea area near Jaffna Delft Island.
It is said that while the Northern Naval Command’s Ranavikrama ship was on patrol in that sea area, it was suspicious of something floating in the sea and found 14 parcels of Kerala ganja.
The Navy suspects that the smugglers may have fled after seeing the Navy vessel and abandoned the cannabis stock.
It is said that the value of the seized drug stock is more than 14 million rupees and the Kerala Ganja stock is in the custody of the Navy for further investigations.
