It is reported that the dead body of an unknown baby girl was found in a well in the garden of a house in the Welagedara police domain under Ridigama divisional secretariat.
Due to the lack of water in the house, the house owner checked the well before turning on the water motor, and saw a doll floating on the water and moved a piece of wood to remove it, and realized that it was not a doll.
He then examined it further and found it to be the dead body of a baby.
Later, the owner of the house complained to the police and accordingly the police came to the place and inspected it and it is reported that the baby’s body was sent to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital for post-mortem on the orders of the magistrate.
