It is reported that private buses on the Galle Makumbura Southern Expressway have been decided to run only as per the schedule from today (11).
Mr. Nilanga Sandaruwan, secretary of Galle Makumbura Southern Expressway Bus Association, says that due to the action, passengers will have to wait at the bus stop for some time.
“The reason for this is that we objected to the schedule that was given to us on December 18, 2023. No decision has been taken in this regard so far. Kanagatuwa expresses the inconvenience caused to the passengers in this regard. Until now, we are a group that has worked to run buses as needed for the passengers without running on this schedule. At no point did passengers get stuck in queues and we ran. But none of the parties dealt with this inconvenience we are in. Therefore, all these buses run only to the letter. If the authorities do not take steps to change this schedule, we will take it to a bus strike starting from Galle on the 18th.”
