It is reported that a person who was running an illegal medical treatment center pretending to be a registered doctor by profession was arrested in a medical center in Uswatakeiyawa, Colombo road area.
It is stated that the suspect was arrested after a police officer was directed to obtain medical treatment and a medical certificate.
Also, the police have taken into custody two official seals stating that he obtained Dr,Fonseka (MBBS) Sri Lanka, MCS D P (London) and fake official seals stating SDC Perera (Russia).
It has been revealed in the police investigation that this suspect is a person who has no qualifications for the medical profession, who has previously worked under a doctor, who has been treating patients in this way for two years, and who has posed as a doctor under two names.
He is a 55-year-old permanent resident of Yala Kanuwana and 12 Armor Street, Colombo and it is reported that the suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court.
