According to the information received by the officers of the Police Special Task Force Intelligence Division, a raid was carried out by a team including Inspector PB Rajanayake of the Intelligence Division following the instructions of the Commanding Officer DIG Attorney Varuna Jayasundara and Assistant Superintendent of Police Sagara Kulasekara in a house at Alvitigala Mawatha in Narahenpita. It is reported that a suspect was arrested with a forgery of driver’s licenses and other documents.
The suspect is said to be a 37-year-old resident of Narahenpita, Colombo 5.
The police have stated that this place was maintained behind the Motor Transport Department building.
It is reported that the police seized 20 fake driving licenses, 11 different cards, a computer system, equipment used to prepare fake Sinhala licenses, 7 bank cards and 3 income licenses from the suspect.
