It is reported that two men and three women have been seriously injured as a result of a casual relationship.
The incident was reported from Ramanadapuram, Kalmadunagar during the night of yesterday (19).
It is reported that the injured have been admitted to Kilinochchi Hospital and two of them have been transferred to Jaffna Hospital for further treatment.
The injured are two men aged 28 and 30 and three women aged 28, 30 and 50, who are residents of Palayi and Vavuniya areas.
Further investigation into the incident has revealed that a casual encounter resulted in a long-distance assault with sharp weapons.
Three people, aged 24, 33 and 59, residing in Kilinochchi and Wattakacchi areas, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Ramanadapuram police are conducting further investigations.
