It is reported that a woman was burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a house in Kalavanchikudi police domain yesterday afternoon (07).
It is said that the deceased was a 74-year-old woman who was unable to walk and was on a bed at home.
The police suspect that the fire started when he was sleeping while keeping a lit smoke tray near his bed.
It is also reported that the body was sent to the Batticaloa Mortuary for the post-mortem after the Magistrate’s inquiry into the incident.
