It is reported that the Department of Meteorology has declared that there may be an unusual increase in rainfall by the month of November this year in Sri Lanka, turning the current dry weather situation completely on its ear.
Accordingly, the department states that due to the weather conditions of El Nino (EL Nino) and Indian Ocean Dipole (Indian Ocean Dipole), the rainfall may be more than usual by November of this year, and there may be a risk of flooding at that time.
